GameStop for the Digital Age

By enabling players to trade in and re-sell used video games, GameStop became a multi-billion-dollar business, and a major part of the $235 billion global gaming industry.

The problem is that more than ninety percent of all video games sold today are digital. That means there’s no way for a player to re-sell or trade in the game after they’re done playing it. Robot Cache is changing that fact.

This startup has created an online video-game marketplace. This platform enables gamers to buy, play, and sell games. Players can even earn virtual currency and use it to buy more games.

Robot Cache has raised nearly thirty million dollars from investors. And its team includes executives from major game publishers including Walt Disney, Activision, Midway, Atari, and Warner Brothers Interactive. Notably, the company has strategic partnerships with publishers Konami, Embracer Group, Koch Media, and 505 Games.
