Hightag is creating the next step in this process. It’s created a video-capture system that automatically films video clips when someone comes within range, then instantly delivers the footage to the user’s account in the Hightag app.
This system is designed for action and adventure sports athletes — e.g., skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers, the same types of users that made GoPro so popular and valuable. As HighTag says, “POV cameras capture what athletes see. Hightag captures how athletes see themselves.”
In 2024, consumers spent more than six billion dollars on action and POV cameras. Hightag has notable investors including outdoor retailer REI and The Venture Center.
