Can Your Clothes Protect You?
Lululemon (Nasdaq: LULU) became a thirty-one-billion-dollar company by disrupting the $432 billion market for athleisure wear. Now the company’s former President has identified — and invested in — an apparel brand with just as much potential for success.
It’s called HAVN, and it’s created the first line of clothing that can block exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs). EMFs stem from phones, wi-fi, and most internet-connected devices, and can cause fertility issues, cognition decline, even cancer.
Along with Lululemon’s former President, HAVN is backed by Sand Hill Angels, Science Ventures, and NBA superstar Rudy Gobert. The company has generated eighteen million dollars in lifetime sales and was awarded a contract with the U.S. Air Force, which is implementing EMF exposure-mitigation programs.
Angel investment group made up of Silicon Valley executives and accredited investors. Portfolio includes Swoopt (mobile fantasy sports app) and Nowait (iPad seating app for casual restaurants).
