Stress Relief — From a Video Game
Nearly 200 million Americans play video games. How about playing one that treats symptoms of anxiety and depression?
Arcade Therapeutics has created a mobile game that’s clinically proven to manage anxiety symptoms. Here’s how it works…
When you’re anxious, you may pay too much attention to negative thoughts and experiences. Based on neuroscience research, Arcade’s game addresses this by retraining subconscious patterns of attention as you complete various levels of the game.
In a clinical trial, more than ninety-percent of participants showed reductions in anxiety symptoms. And sixty-eight percent saw a meaningful drop in the severity of their anxiety.
Arcade’s investors include Blu Venture Investors, 3LS Ventures, and 12N Family Capital. The company was awarded a $3.8 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and has initial contracts with a health-insurance company and two state universities.
